On October 26, media label Avex started streaming the fifth episode of a talk show for Sakura Wars the Stage, hosted by Sakura Wars series composer Kohei Tanaka and actress Natsume Oki.
In the seven minute video, the two discuss Oki’s experiences playing the latest Sakura Wars game and the audition process. In later segments, Hirayu talks about rehearsals and preparation for the show.
In the second portion, Oki remarks that she adores series theme song Geki! Teikoku Kagekidan, and watched the 2000 anime when she was younger. She adds that she’s seen several Kayo shows on video, and that her interest was piqued by the news of the auditions for the new work when she learned there would be a battle section.
She recalls being nervous about singing in front of Tanaka, admitting that her voice trembled when she began singing Geki! Teikoku Kageidan at first, though she found her footing not long after. The two continue, discussing the intensity of the rehearsals, and the training that Oki underwent to prepare for the role.
Sakura Wars the Stage opens on November 19, and will run through November 23.
