On October 25, media label Avex started streaming the third episode of a talk show for Sakura Wars the Stage, hosted by Sakura Wars series composer Kohei Tanaka and actress Yui Kanchiku.
In the nine-minute video, Kanchiku discusses her experiences preparing for the role of Azami, and the pressures from friends to play the character to her fullest, in addition to her own feelings about the character. In a later segment, she discusses rehearsals, her desire to bring Azami to life, and the sheer pressure to provide a flawless performance.
Tanaka discusses his experience in the audition process, explaining that there were ten finalists for the role, but Kanchiku proved to be the only one who truly embodied Azami’s role.
